REASON TO CHOOSE US

Message from the Director General

“Shaping Professionals for a Safer India: Build Your Future in Fire & Safety Engineering”
Shri Sunil Kumar Jha,IPS
DG (FS, CD & HG)
Ministry of Home Affairs
Government of India

It gives me immense satisfaction to highlight the growing importance of professional education in the field of Fire Engineering and Safety Management, an area that is critical to safeguarding lives, infrastructure and national assets.

The National Fire Service College (NFSC), Nagpur, stands as the country’s premier institution dedicated to education, training and research in fire and emergency services. The B.Tech programme in Fire Engineering, affiliated with Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, is designed to develop competent, disciplined and technically sound professionals for this specialised domain.

The programme integrates scientific knowledge with practical exposure in areas such as fire prevention, fire protection systems, industrial safety, disaster response and risk management. In an era marked by rapid urbanisation, industrial expansion and emerging risks, the demand for trained fire and safety professionals is steadily increasing both within India and internationally.

Graduates of NFSC have been contributing meaningfully across sectors, including public sector undertakings, private industries, infrastructure projects and consultancy services. The College has maintained a strong placement record over the years, with students securing opportunities in reputed organisations across energy, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors. While career prospects are promising, success ultimately depends on the commitment, competence and professional integrity of each individual.

I encourage aspiring students to consider Fire Engineering not merely as a career option, but as a mission-oriented profession dedicated to public safety and national resilience. NFSC provides the right environment to nurture this vision through rigorous training, discipline and exposure to real-world challenges

I extend my best wishes to all aspirants who wish to take admission in NFSC.
